Dream Triptych

I've interpreted 'souvenir' as a remnant or a memory. These three images represent the memory of a dream. I've presented them as a triptych to suggest a fragmented, half remembered narrative, as that's usually how I recall my dreams - as episodes and images. It's quite an experimental piece and I'd like to develop this theme a bit further.

Because I was so slow in doing my last illustration I thought I would get on top of it this time and be super fast! Here is my little souvenir. I am calling it 'House in the hand'.

Bouquet

Here is my Bouquet, ridiculously late and ridiculously photographed, silly wobbly paper. I will scan this next week properly on an a3 scanner and never work above a4 again!

Hodgepodge

I interpreted the theme of  'foreign' as eccentric, irregular or bizarre. I've used collage to reinforce the hodgepodge character of this odd couple.

I wanted to capture the awkward feeling of being foreign. A person brings their culture and ideas with them when they move.

To carry the last theme a bit further and inspired by the crazy cold weather lately, I've picked 'Foreign' as the new brief...let's see what we come up with.

Finnnnallly! Here is my sailing! Weeks late because I have been really sick lately. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. What shall the next theme be Aine? I promise to produce the next one faster!

Well Aine here it is! Great minds think alike or... when one thinks of crowds they immediately think... public transport!

That Monday morning Central Line feeling

My 'crowd' is more of a 'squash'. It's that uncomfortable rush-hour commute when you've got someone's elbow in your face.

Ok Lizzie, we're up and running again :) The theme is 'crowd'. I'm in the habit of making images with one or two characters so this will be a challenge for me.

Dormant Landscape

This is my illustration of dormant. It is a frozen lake. 'Dormant' conjures up images of snow and ice and lonely houses in the dark.

the letter book.

where is this going... hmm not sure? but i am happy with how it looks so far. i am thinking of creating a narrative that iss based on the mirror and repetitive elements. the letters came from looking at some type books. i am not sure where the name rose came from, probably i liked drawing the r o and s best and so it turned into 'rose'. anyone that is a writer and feels like trying to make a narrative of this... go for it!

i've got two more images to make.. but they are incubating in my mind at the moment.
